Vietnamese Food in Cho Ben Thanh Market - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Bến Thành Market is THE large marketplace in Hồ Chí Minh City. Everything you could ever need under one roof. One giant roof. After some time wandering the shopping section, you'll give in to the amazing grilled smells coming out of the center food court. Food stall hawkers try to wrangle you into their 6'x6' section of the market. It's like Vietnamese street food without the street. We had Bánh Xèo, Vietnamese Pancake, which is an old favorite of ours. Shots of it are at the end. So very very good. I ate herbs and greens washed in the water from this market and didn't get sick. So trust that as far as you want to. As always - go to a busy place.

If you are traveling to Saigon, then you'll probably end up here. Watch for the pickpockets - we were fine but locals made it a point to warn us more than once. The market is located near the Công viên 23 Tháng 9 park, which is like a mini Central Park sort of. Check that very same park at sundown/night to really get to hang out with the Vietnamese.
